In its latest Sustainability Report, the CLP Group highlighted its efforts in keeping the workforce safe and well, while remaining focused on supporting the development of employees in a world disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
As COVID-19 put the importance of global health in the spotlight, CLP demonstrated its unwavering commitment to health and safety by swiftly implementing a range of measures, including the implementation of flexible working arrangements and provision of necessary protective equipment to safeguard the health and wellbeing of employees and contractors.
Through its Boost Health and Wellbeing programme in Hong Kong and similar initiatives in Mainland China, India, and Australia, CLP provided resources and training to support the long-term physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing of employees, and address additional stresses and challenges brought by the pandemic.
To build organisational agility and develop a workforce ready for future needs, CLP continued its investments in upskilling its people and nurturing its pipelines of young engineers and leaders through ongoing professional training and education programmes. CLP also responded to the pandemic-induced job market downturn by more than doubling work opportunities for university and vocational college graduates in Hong Kong.
CLP has continued its efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Female representation at all levels continued to increase, with diversity at the Board level further improving to almost 30%.
