Energy Recovery Announces Retrofit of Desalination Facility in Chile, Introduces PX PowerTrain(TM) Solution

SAN LEANDRO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / November 16, 2020 / Energy Recovery (NASDAQ:ERII) today announced a contract with IDE Technologies ("IDE") to replace the Calder DWEER work exchanger ("DWEER") energy recovery device ("ERD") technology in a desalination facility supporting a copper mine in Chile. Energy Recovery will be supplying IDE with several of the Company's PX PowerTrains™.
The PX PowerTrain solution combines Energy Recovery's award-winning PX® Pressure Exchanger® ("PX") devices with frame support and ancillary equipment into a compact, ready to install, high-performance ERD solution.

The desalination facility was commissioned in 2017 and is the largest non-municipal desalination plant in the world exclusively dedicated for industrial use. The total plant capacity is approximately 300,000 cubic meters per day ("m3/day").
