Airgas Appoints Robert H. Young, Jr. Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Airgas, Inc. (NYSE:ARG), the largest U.S. distributor of packaged industrial, specialty, and medical gases and related products, today announced that Robert H. Young, Jr., president and shareholder of the Radnor-based law firm, McCausland Keen & Buckman, will join Airgas as senior vice president and general counsel on October 1. He will replace Dean Bertolino, who has decided to leave the company.

Young will serve on the Management Committee, reporting directly to Airgas Chairman and CEO Peter McCausland, who founded both Airgas and McCausland Keen & Buckman in 1982. The 20-member law firm, which McCausland left in 1987, offers a broad range of services in the areas of business, finance, real estate, securities, licensing, tax, estate planning, litigation and employment law.

Through the years, Bob has worked closely as outside counsel for Airgas on many of our acquisitions and other corporate legal matters, said McCausland. Im delighted to welcome him aboard full-time to lead our legal team.

Young has been a shareholder of McCausland, Keen & Buckman since 1987. He has focused his practice on general corporate law for both public and private corporations, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financing. He first joined the law firm in 1985 after beginning his legal career as an attorney at Drinker Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia.

Young received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and earned his undergraduate degree at Williams College. In between undergraduate and law schools, he served in the Peace Corp in Morocco.

I am honored to join Airgas full-time, said Young. Ive had the pleasure of working with many Airgas executives from around the country over the years and look forward to continuing those relationships in my role as General Counsel. While it is difficult to leave McCausland, Keen & Buckman, the firm has never been stronger and I wish my colleagues and friends continued success.
