2021 Uniting America Walk – “Forgiveness And Reconciliation” With Rev. Dr. Johannes ChristianOctober 12, 2021 at 15:50 PM EDT
![]() On October 15, 2021, Rev. Dr. Johannes J. Christian, 70, of Columbus, Ohio, will begin to walk the 400 miles from Columbus, Ohio, to Washington, D.C. He plans to arrive at the Monument to Martin Luther King, Jr. on October 30, 2021 Dr. Johannes Christian is the Face of Forgiveness Foundation founder, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about victimization and the power of forgiveness while living with a disability. REV. DR. JOHANNES J. CHRISTIAN Dr. Christian faces a world of darkness, as he lost both of his eyes because of this life-changing event. In addition, this crime caused two state laws to be changed, stiffening the penalty for propelling objects from bridges and highway overpasses. The loss of his sight clarified Dr. Christian’s mission and ministry of focusing on forgiveness. He believes that in order to heal, it is important to forgive. His teachings emphasize the importance of forgiveness regardless of the circumstances. Dr. Christian has authored several books about forgiveness and is currently a radio personality on the CJoy Internet network. He resides in Columbus, Ohio. THE REASONS FOR UNDERTAKING THIS EVENT Dr. Christian said, “My want is that all people would stop and think about the things that keep our country from being united. In our personal lives, in our community, and our world. With the walk from Columbus, Ohio to Washington D.C., Dr. Christian offers a daring new perspective: “Disregard the negativity that divides us. Christian said. “If the rhetoric you hear from someone offends you, come to a peaceful, united front. Step toward Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Unity: “Hear what they are saying, then come to a resolution on how their rhetoric affects you and your community and change the negativity to a peaceful and positive outcome,” said Christian. Unity is the ultimate goal. More to the point, it begins when we’re willing to push through and move forward with each other. But at the heart of Unity is the question of Forgiveness and Reconciliation. “If we don’t really deal with it,” said Dr. Christian, “We’ll never get to unity; we can’t love somebody equally if we see them as less than.” Dr. Christian and the organizers of the Forgiveness and Reconciliation Uniting America Walk hope to bring continued focus, conversation, and action to efforts aimed at true forgiveness and healing, especially in times of harm, anger, fear, concern, and hopelessness. In addition, we hope to bring this unique and powerful conversation to the nation. Funds raised will benefit the MOBILE Center for Independent Living & Face of Forgiveness Foundation.
