August 15th, 2020 is an important date for the controversial DACA program. It marks the 8th anniversary of when the USCIS began accepting DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival applications. Something that is wildly important to the lives of many, many people in the United States. August 15th also marks the release of a timely autobiography tackling the subject, Hector Soliz’s “Until Death, Jail, or Deportation: Story of a Dreamer”, sure to add a needed perspective from an immigrant in the United States who has been through the DACA dreamer experience himself. The new book is available in both paperback and Kindle editions, in both English and Spanish.

“I am happy to have had the chance to write a true and honest book about DACA,” commented Soliz. “There’s many misunderstandings on both side of the heated debate. I hope that my book will help bring a great level of insight on DACA for the good of America, all Americans, and the immigrants working hard to be recognized officially here.”

“Until Death, Jail, or Deportation: Story of a Dreamer” covers Soliz’s life from birth, through his development years, into the events that lead up to the decision to immigrate to the United States, and ultimately into his life afterwards trying to assimilate and belong.

The book also highlights Soliz’s family’s experience. The shining inspiration of his parent’s love, and their sacrifice and struggle to provide a better life as an American for their children. It’s quite difficult to not see both the broken immigration system in a new light, along with how guarded natural born Americans are from the harsh truths of the world outside our borders.
