New Jersey American Water Investing $6.5 Million in New Water Mains in Camden County

New Jersey American Water will be investing approximately $6.5 million for the installation of new water mains in its Voorhees and Oaklyn service area. The company will be installing approximately 32,850 feet of new main in this area, replacing water main that was installed around the 1920s with new ductile iron main.

Beginning this week in Voorhees, New Jersey American Water’s qualified contractor South State will begin working along the following streets:

  • Northgate Drive, from Berlin Road to Boundary Lane
  • Sunset Drive, from Cornell Drive to Penn Road
  • Penn Road, from Northgate Drive to Tulane Avenue

Work has already begun and will continue throughout the fall in Oaklyn. New Jersey American Water’s qualified contractor Pioneer Pipe will be working on the following streets:

  • Washington Avenue, from Kendall Boulevard to end of Roadway
  • Goff Avenue, from Manor Avenue to end of Roadway
  • Harding Avenue, from Eden Avenue to Washington Avenue
  • Eden Avenue, from Kendall Boulevard to Goff Avenue
  • Spruce Avenue and Maple Avenue, from West Holly Avenue to West Cedar Avenue
  • West Cedar Avenue, from West Holly Avenue to Manor Avenue
  • West Holly Avenue, from Landis Avenue to Manor Avenue
  • West Park Avenue, from Maple Avenue to Manor Avenue
  • Manheim Avenue, from West Clinton Avenue to end of Roadway
  • Reading Avenue, from Manheim Avenue to Hillcrest Avenue
  • East Beechwood Avenue, from Manheim Avenue to Newton Avenue
  • Landis Avenue, from Manor Avenue to West Holly Avenue
  • Bryant Avenue and Walnut Avenue, from Kendall Boulevard to West Holly Avenue
  • West Oakland Avenue, from Manor Avenue to West Holly Avenue
  • Woodlane Terrace, from Goff Avenue to West Clinton Avenue
  • West Clinton Avenue, from Kendall Boulevard to Manor Avenue
  • Manor Avenue, from West Nicholson Road to end of Roadway

“By coordinating these projects closely with the Borough of Oaklyn and Voorhees Township, we are looking forward to making these critical investments,” stated Dave Forcinito, senior director of Southwest Operations. “By proactively upgrading aging infrastructure, we are continuing our commitment to ensuring quality and service for our customers.”

Construction is expected to be completed by March 31, 2018 with final street restoration being completed in the spring of 2018. New Jersey American Water values the safety of its workers and advises drivers and pedestrians to take caution in the vicinity of work sites.

Forcinito added these improvements are part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
