New Jersey American Water Appoints New Vice President of Government Affairs

New Jersey American Water has announced that Bill Walsh has been named vice president of government affairs, effective May 23. Formerly the director of state public affairs at Public Service Electric Enterprise Group (PSEG), Walsh’s responsibilities will include directing the company’s government affairs programs, representing the company to state government and municipal officials, maintaining relations with the municipalities the New Jersey American Water serves, and helping to identify growth opportunities.
“Bill Walsh has a distinguished record of accomplishment and is someone who is highly regarded in state government circles,” said John R. Bigelow, president of New Jersey American Water. “He has in-depth knowledge about how utilities operate and the challenges we face. As New Jersey American Water continues to work with state and local governments to find ways to provide better service to our customers, Bill’s experience will be a valuable asset.”
Prior to joining New Jersey American Water, Walsh worked 34 years at PSEG, progressing through the company in various positions. He began his career at PSEG as a product service manager and then became manager government affairs. Walsh also served as director of corporate responsibility and president of the company’s foundation. Beginning in 2003, he served four years as director corporate issues before becoming director of state public affairs.
