New Jersey American Water’s Tambini Appointed Trustee of AWWA NJ

Steve Tambini, vice president of operations for New Jersey American Water, has been appointed to a three-year term as a member of the American Water Works Association New Jersey’s (AWWA NJ) Board of Trustees. As a member of the eight-member board, Tambini will provide leadership and guidance to the organization as it strategically advances issues that will provide New Jersey with sufficient quantities of quality drinking water.
“I am looking forward to continue working with my colleagues at AWWA NJ to help ensure our industry is prepared to meet our state’s water supply, infrastructure and quality challenges,” said Tambini. “I am confident that New Jersey’s water professionals we count as our members can sustainably address New Jersey’s water needs now and into the future.”
Tambini has been with New Jersey American Water since 1984 and is responsible for all aspects of water and wastewater utility operations throughout the state. As an active member of AWWA NJ, he has also been chair of the Water Utility Council which is responsible for shaping the association’s regulatory and legislative programs that impact the drinking water industry.
Tambini also serves on the NJDEP Water Supply Advisory Council, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rancocas Conservancy Land Trust. In addition, Tambini is a graduate of 2010 Leadership New Jersey program, which brings together a select group of recognized emerging leaders from across New Jersey.
Tambini holds a masters degree and a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering, both from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY.
